Welcome to our Darkwood guide and walkthrough. This is a 100% completion guide, meant to help you survive, complete the story, and to collect all Trophies/Achievements.
Keep in mind that although this guide is here to help, Darkwood is randomly generated, meaning that your experience will be different from mine, and will be different every time you play.
For Darkwood on the PlayStation 4, GameFAQs has 16 trophies.
This is a survival game, and it will be difficult. You’re trying to survive in the woods, avoiding monsters, barricading windows, collecting items, and crafting tools. Survive long enough, and you get to escape.
100% completion of Darkwood will require at least two full playthroughs of the game, depending on the choices you make. Your actions have consequences, and will affect your game. If you miss something, you'll have to replay the game again (at least until that point). There are four major choices to make, and each will have different consequences on the game. You can learn all about these in the Trophy & Achievement Guide.

There are two endings to Darkwood, the 'True Ending' and the 'Happy Ending'. Both are covered in this guide.
Keep in mind that your choices will have consequences. Killing the traders such as the Wolf, the Three, or the Trader will mean that they stop showing up to trade with you (obviously, they're dead). So don't kill them!
Darkwood will take you around 20 hours to complete, longer if you want to complete 100%. My job here is to help you minimize the length of time you are required to play. Warning: There will be some minor spoilers ahead.
What this guide will offer:
- Full walkthrough for Darkwood
- Full Trophy/Achievement guide
- How to get the True Ending
- How to get the Happy Ending

The atmospheric horror game “” is coming to the later this month, developer announced Wednesday via the.It was announced in March that the, and now another platform will get a port of the survival game. Players don’t have too long to wait, as the PS4 version is coming out on May 14, as seen in the announce trailer above. This top-down view game offers an open-world survival horror experience without resorting to cheap gimmicks, like jump scares— which the creators say is partly because they’re not a fan of those types of thrills in games and film.“‘Darkwood’ did not start off as a horror game,” Gustaw Stachaszewski, co-founder of Acid Wizard wrote in the blog post. “As a matter of fact, we were always too afraid to play most horror titles or watch horror movies and very much disliked the horror genre trends from several years ago, which revolved around cheap jump scares.”. The development of “Darkwood” took five years, and was originally meant to be a tower defense game.
The developers ended up taking elements from various games that they enjoyed, and over time “Darkwood” became something quite different from what they originally had planned, bringing in roguelike elements as well as features like scavenging, crafting, and extensive NPC interactions. The setting of the game was made by drawing experiences from co-founder Jacob Kuc’s time living in the Polish countryside. The game was also inspired by films directed by Kubrick and Tarkovsky, as well as games like “Fallout” and “Dark Souls.”.
